Q2: Do eyeglasses for personal computers and Absorptive Lens have the same blue light cutoff function or effect?
A2: Absorptive Lens are filter lenses, which effectively suppress light with a short wavelength of 500 nm or less, including blue light and ultraviolet rays in sunlight, and alleviate glare while allowing bright light to pass through them. With this effect, Absorptive Lens prevent vision from becoming excessively dark like sunglasses, and suppress glare.
On the other hand, eyeglasses for personal computers are explicitly tailored to suppress blue light emitted from digital devices. They come in coated and tinted types, and the blue light cutoff rate is also different between them.
Absorptive Lens are available in various situations, whereas eyeglasses for personal computers are designed exclusively to protect eyes from blue light emitted from digital devices. There are also colors of Absorptive Lens favorable for use when operating a personal computer. Recommended colors are grayish and greenish colors, which less change in color tone, and brownish colors, which increase contrast.
It is not necessarily true that a high blue light cutoff rate is good, and it is important to select a color with usefulness and visibility for the user taken into account.
Q3: Can Absorptive Lens be made with progressive lenses?
A3: Absorptive Lens support the latest bifocal lenses, progressive lenses, wide vision lenses for near vision, etc. Use appropriate lenses according to the purpose of use or the environment where they are used.
