TOKAI OPTICAL’s Shinpukuji Factory will begin solar power generation on March 1, 2024 through a Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) with Chubu Electric Power Miraiz Co.,Inc.
This will be the first solar power generation initiative at TOKAI OPTICAL. The power generation capacity is 450KW, which will contribute to a reduction of approximately 227 tons of CO2 emissions per year. These efforts will contribute to the realization of a carbon-neutral society and to the creation of a sustainable society under the SDGs. Through the promotion of the introduction of renewable energy, TOKAI OPTICAL Group will accelerate the reduction of CO2 emissions by implementing measures to improve energy efficiency and expanding solar power generation, which are part of the “Aiming for symbiosis and harmony with the natural environment, we will work on environmental load reduction and environmental conservation,” an environmental measure set forth in the “TOKAI OPTICAL Group SDGs Declaration” .
