Tokai Optical Co., Ltd. will start “0.01D-OP (option),” a technology for precisely customizing power, on December 1.
By making it possible to set the power of lenses in steps of 0.01D, lenses fit for your eye can be produced, and it is also possible to exploit their outstanding performance.
Normally, when eyeglass lenses are made, vision is measured at an optician and the power of the eyeglass lenses is determined. The optimum power unit for eyeglass lenses, D (diopter), has been determined for each individual in increments of 0.25D. However, the optimum power unit for eyeglass lenses has been determined for each individual in increments of 0.25D.
However, if the actually required power of your eyeglass lenses is between any two steps of 0.25D of the conventional 0.25D-step system,, you cannot obtain your optimum power, and satisfactory performance cannot be occasionally expected from lenses.
The service will provide precision by availing to prescribe lenses in 0.01D steps.
New option: “0.01D” designation
Both S-power and C-power can be set in steps of 0.01D.
